Create Lifelong Memories with Your Family at WCTE's Stations of Imagination 2016

Posted by Kate Spears on

WCTE’s Stations of Imagination, at this year’s Fall FunFest, will be Friday, September 9 from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, September 10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Don’t forget to come meet BOB THE BUILDER™ and join Team Bob on Saturday! From paving roads to building a whole new town from the ground up, there’s no challenge too great for Bob the Builder™ and his team. With a positive attitude, team work and problem-solving skills, Bob the Builder™ tackles any job!

Think back to your childhood. What do you remember most fondly? Chances are your favorite memories include some of the little things your family did together. Things like a day at the park or a picnic in the mountains. You might have memories of favorite holidays or special traditions you shared. Maybe you have tried to recreate some of these special moments with your own kids now that you are a parent.

In today's social media age, there is so much pressure on families to do everything to the fullest, while making these fun moments look effortless. This isn't always possible, but WCTE is out to make things a little easier on you.

Did you know our annual event Stations of Imagination (Sept. 9th & 10th) is completely free? All the fun activities, from the different partner booth activities, to the performances, and even the meet & greet photo opps with beloved PBS Kids characters are totally free. Plus, there's something for kids of all ages.

WCTE understands that families are pulled in all directions. And many of the activities kids want to participate in have associated costs - things like dance lessons, scouts or athletics. That's why we are committed to offering this free event for families in the Upper Cumberland. It's just another way we can fulfill our mission of engaging our citizens through programs and services that inform, educate, entertain, and inspire.

On this week's episode of the WCTE Get Ready To Learn radio show, host Cindy Putman speaks with Amy Jennings, volunteer coordinator for the Putnam County Habitat for Humanity. Habitat is an important partner in this year's Stations of Imagination, with a special Bob the Builder™ booth where young learners will engage with hands-on building activities.

When you stop by Habitat's booth at Stations, your kids will have the chance to get a hard hat, and play with all sorts of fun building toys - including Lincoln logs, Legos, and blocks.

Your kids can also meet and have their photo taken with Bob the Builder™ during the following times:

  • 11:00 to 11:30 a.m.
  • 12:00 to 12:30 p.m.
  • 2:00 to 2:30 p.m.
  • 3:00 to 3:30 p.m.

Be sure to bring your camera to capture the special day!

And don't forget to check out the Stations of Imagination main stage for a wide variety of awesome performances all through the day on Saturday! Click here to see the full stage schedule.
