Spotlight on Hope Center | Upper Cumberland

Last Updated by Kate Spears on

Tune into this week's WCTE Get Ready To Learn radio show with host Cynthia Putman and discover information about a new non-profit adoption agency in the Upper Cumberland. Special guests Crystal Taylor and Jami Thornsberry join Putman and share information that focuses on the adoption journey.

These two women share the story of how this agency came to be in Cookeville, how the board was selected, how they can help families and mothers who are choosing adoption. They discuss ways that they are working to break the stigma surrounding adoption and the journey for the birth mothers and the adoptive family. They also discussed the privacy of adoption for birth mothers and their families.

The nonprofit organization we talked about is called Hope Center, a 501(3)C adoption agency that provides FREE adoption counseling and counseling to birth-mothers who find themselves in a crisis pregnancy or parenting hardship. As an agency, Hope Center strives to walk alongside a young woman as she makes her first and most important parenting decision.

The organization also provides domestic home-study services and adoption counseling. They walk through the adoption journey with couples while striving to keep the adoption cost low so that those called to adopt can.

Hope Center would like to reach out to young women in what they might consider "a crisis pregnancy," or those experiencing a parenting hardship, as well as couples who feels called to build your family through adoption. They want these individuals to know they can help. The offices are located in the heart of the Upper Cumberland, Cookeville, TN, at 18 South Walnut Ave. Or you can reach them via phone at (931) 252-7159 or visit Hope Center on Facebook by clicking here.
