Spotlight on Summer Feeding Programs in Putnam County & Jackson County

Last Updated by Kate Spears on

Join us on this edition of WCTE’s Get Ready To Learn with host Cynthia Putman and Kathlyn Walter, School Nutrition Supervisor for Putnam County Schools, as they share information about  the summer feeding program in Putnam and Jackson County.

The program is provided by a USDA grant and is for anyone under the age of 18, as well as the elderly, and the disabled. No paperwork is required to participate and it is totally FREE! During the first week of the program 1,500 students were fed at various feeding sites. Walter stresses that this program is opened to anyone who meets the requirements. Participation in this program is encouraged. A well fed child is a happier child.

Check out the times and locations below. If you have questions call: (931) 528-1847 ext. 1214.

support their local school district. We will be offering this program Monday through Friday from May 29- July 27 (closed July 4). If your workplace, daycare, camp, or vacation bible school is interested in offering free Breakfast, Snack, Lunch and/ or Supper to children, please contact Lynette Ellis at (931)528-1847 ext 1215.
