Community Food and Shoe Drive at the Jammin at Hippie Jack’s Americana Roots Music Festival
Crawford, TN. The Council of Americana Roots Music in partnership with Vine Ridge Food Pantry and Soles4Souls announced today that they will be collecting food and shoes for those in needs at the upcoming Jammin at Hippie Jack’s Music Festival May 22–25, 2014. What began with donations of non-perishable items from campers leaving the festival has grown into an essential partnership resulting in the distribution of thousands of pounds of donated food to people struggling with hunger on the Cumberland Plateau.
Along with bringing springtime cheer, the Jammin at Hippie Jack’s Music Festival is making a difference, by collecting non-perishable food items, shoes and raising awareness about hunger and poverty issues in the U.S. and abroad. With families continuing to turn to our local food shelf, the need is always present. Items such as canned meat, soups, canned fruits and vegetables, and boxed meals. Also new and used shoes and clothes are in high demand. Though this is a ticketed event, you don’t need a ticket to drop off items at the front gate. Additionally, attendees are asked to bring items for donation.
