Episode Title:
The Black Lillies

Led by multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter Cruz Contreras, this ensemble serves up a rollicking musical mélange that touches on bluegrass, country, alt-rock, neo-folk and mountain music. Hip enough for Bonnaroo audiences but with enough authentic hillbilly soul to be repeat performers on the stage of the legendary Grand Ole Opry, the Black Lillies’ eclectic style offers a boatload of talent with a reputation on the rise.

Taped 333 feet below ground within the labyrinth of Tennessee’s Cumberland Caverns, this 12-part “musical adventure” series features the top established and emerging artists within the bluegrass, newgrass, gospel, roots and Americana genres. The artist line-up includes the Civil Wars, Jerry Douglas, Sarah Jarosz, Jim Lauderdale, the David Mayfield Parade, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Scott Miller, the Time Jumpers, the Vespers, Del McCoury, Vince Gill, and the Black Lillies.
