September is National Suicide Prevention Month

On September 17th's Live at 5:00, we spoke with Shelia Barker, Social Emotional Wellness Coordinator for Putnam County Schools about the importance of mental health awareness and resources for those in crisis.

Volunteer Behavioral Health Crisis (Local Resource):  1-800-704-2651; They also provide a three-day inpatient crisis stabilization.

Camp TV Season 2

With grant funds from THIRTEEN, WCTE produced three segments for the second season of Camp TV, featuring some great local partners. A very special Thank You to the Appalachian Center for Craft and Cumberland Mountain State Park  for their work on this project.

WCTE welcomes everyone back for the new school year! The DOE is once again providing curriculum-based English language arts and math instructional videos. All online resources are available to everyone at no charge. 

Educational programming from the Tennessee Department of Education resumed on August 2, 2021.

WCTE At-Home Learning media resources from PBS, WCTE,and the Tennessee Department of Education can be used to enhance the on-air programming schedule. Together, we can help make TV time learning time.

PreK-12 Resources For New School Routines
As teachers, students, and families enter another school year with new routines, both in-person and virtual, PBS LearningMedia offers this special collection of flexible resources to support learning from anywhere. Find videos, self-paced Interactive lessons, printable activities, and more. This collection is also available in Spanish. 
 

The PBS KIDS 24/7 Channel provides educational programming for children ages 2-8 throughout the day, seven days a week. PBSKIDS.org has so many fun, educational games, printables, and activities from all of your favorite PBS Kids shows. It's a safe place for your kids to play online! Want even more ideas? PBS LearningMedia is not just for teachers! It also has great resources parents and caregivers can use either for distance education or for home-schooling this year. All content is standards-aligned and searchable by subject, grade, standard, and activity type. Browse one of their award-winning collections, or sign-up for an account and save resources for later.

Educational Programming on WCTE PBS:

WCTE PBS At-Home Learning media resources from PBS and the Tennessee Department of Education can be used to enhance the online learning assignments. This media guide was developed to help schools and districts bridge the digital divide and provide equitable access to learning for all students at home, regardless of access to the Internet or computers.

WCTE PBS is free over the air to all people and can be accessed by a home antenna, within an 80-mile radius of Cookeville.
