WCTE PBS is thrilled to host our Annual Dinner on Tuesday, April 23 at The Saltbox Inn in Cookeville! Join us for a fun-packed evening with dinner, entertainment, awards, a celebration of local stories, and a special tribute to the shows produced by Henry Louis Gates, Jr.

Tuesday, April 23, 2024 (Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Dinner starts at 6 p.m.)

In addition to great food and wonderful company, the night will feature speaker, Dr. Carl Owens and special excerpts from The Cookeville Theater Company's play, I Am My Ancestors' Wildest Dream. We're so excited to have Dr. Carl Owens as our guest speaker. Now retired, Dr. Owens is Emeritus Professor and Director of The Learning Resources Center at TTU. His vast range of professional experience includes Digital Learning Communities, Photography, Digital Video production, Digital Music Creation and technology integration. 

A longtime supporter of WCTE, he will be speaking about how having access to educational resources and influential people set him on a path of learning, which is sure to inspire all attendees.

Guests will also enjoy presentations by Regina Pullin and Irene Dirkson and the cast from "I Am My Ancestors' Wildest Dream." The full-length show, which was performed previously during Black History Month, featured an all-Black cast of 30 actors and crew members all local to Cookeville.
