WCTE's Educational Mission:
To make sure all children enter school Ready To Learn, become an American Graduate and develop a love of learning so they can become life-long learners. What distinguishes WCTE and PBS from other broadcasters is our public service commitment to fostering lifelong learning. This commitment is reflected in our on- air educational programs, our online services and in the work we do within the community.
These two initiatives powered by grants from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting allow WCTE to empower families and communities with the resources, tools and support to break cycles of generational poverty and chronic school underchievement, to narrow the achievement gap, and teach parents how to be their child's first teacher.
