Amy New to premier on June’s One on One with Becky Magura

WCTE Upper Cumberland PBS will showcase One on One with Becky Magura featuring Amy (Blaylock) New on Thursday, June 18 at 9:00 p.m. New, a Monterey, Tennessee native has recently been named the Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce President & CEO.

One on One is a local production with Becky Magura, President and CEO of the Emmy-Awarding-winning WCTE-TV, the Upper Cumberland's PBS station. She engages fascinating guests with captivating stories from the heart of Central Tennessee.

New most recently worked as the director of programs in the Government and Community Affairs Office at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she was responsible for leading the medical center's local government and community outreach efforts. She previously served four years as Tennessee's first Assistant Commissioner of Rural and Community Development. New attended Tennessee Tech University and earned a bachelor's degree and a license as a Tennessee Certified Economic Developer from the University of Tennessee.

A native of Monterey, TN, Amy brings a wealth of experience to her new role. In her history of success, she also at one time worked with WCTE as the host of our popular series, Business Profiles. Amy is the third ever president in the chamber's fifty-year history and the first female executive leader,” said Becky Magura, WCTE’s President & CEO.

New is the daughter of Mike and former Putnam County Executive Kim Blaylock of Monterey, Tennessee and the granddaughter of former State Senator Charlotte Burks and the late State Senator Tommy Burks.
