February is WCTE’s Become a Member month!

WCTE has announced its New Membership Campaign for the month of February. This campaign will build awareness and community support that drives viewership and engagement for WCTE PBS. Individuals that enroll for a WCTE membership at $60-annually or as a $5-month sustainer will have the option to give a free membership to a family member or friend. WCTE member benefits include a 12-month subscription to the members’ magazine Close-Up and 12-month access to WCTE PBS Passport, the on-demand streaming library of PBS content.

“We know that the community loves WCTE, but they don’t always know how to support the station. That’s why we’re offering this special “buy-one-get-one” membership opportunity to expand our reach and grow our membership,” says Avery Hutchins, Director of Development.

Members of WCTE ensure the programming viewers have grown to love and depend on remains available to everyone. For 16 years, Americans have ranked PBS the most-trusted institution.

All membership contributions directly benefit the Upper Cumberland. Programs like Downton Abbey, Ken Burns’ Country Music, Finding Your Roots, Nature, and Frontline are made possible through member support. WCTE members also ensure children have access to early learning tools that are necessary for school readiness and that educational programs like Curious George, Sesame Street, Molly of Denali and more remain available to all children.

WCTE PBS broadcasts is on 22 cable networks including Dish and DirecTV in Nashville. The WCTE PBS App offers easy streaming and Passport access, weekly e-newsletters and access to the members’ magazine Close-Up.

WCTE is the presenting station for Emmy Award- winning and nationally distributed shows like Bluegrass Underground, Ray Stevens CabaRay, and Barnegie Hall. WCTE has received a number of recognitions for Live Green Tennessee, Discover the Upper Cumberland and One on One with Becky Magura. WCTE received Telly Awards for Crank: Darkness on the Edge of Town, Tree Safari: A Sculptural Journey and more, and was recognized by Governor Bill Haslam and First Lady Crissy Haslam with the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Early Foundations and the TCCY John Seignenthaler Making Kids Count Media Award for work in Ready to Learn early education.
