It is with great sadness that we share this news. Seth Stanger, a long time member of our WCTE team, passed away suddenly over the weekend. If you have had any interaction with WCTE or watched our programming at all over the years, there's a good chance that Seth was involved in some aspect of it.

Seth first volunteered at WCTE’s Great TV Auction in 1987. Remarkably, he only missed one year as a volunteer before he started working full time for the station in 2012. With an eye for details, Seth’s talents included a gift for quality control, video-editing, and production. He also served as a Live Production Director, helping direct the filming of live events, making sure the crew were in positions to ensure a great show for our viewers. Seth was also responsible for making sure our underwriting spots were running properly.
He was an absolute mainstay at WCTE, with his unwavering commitment to quality and doing things the right way. Even if you never got to know him, you've likely heard his voice, rich in mellow tones in the numerous voice-overs he has done on underwriting and promo spots, as well as on WCTE-PBS on the Radio (The Hub 107.7 FM and 1400 AM) every Saturday morning at 9am, where he gives his audience a peek into upcoming programs.
Our hearts are broken at having lost this integral member of our WCTE family. We also ask that you would hold Seth's wife and family in your hearts as well during this difficult time. If you have a "Seth Story" you'd like to share in the comments, we'd love to hear it!
Funeral services for Seth Alden Stanger, 44, of Cookeville, Tennessee, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 25, at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Cookeville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Wednesday, June 24, from 5-8 p.m., and Thursday, June 25, from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Mr. Stanger passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Homes and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements, 526-6111.
