Elyse Pervis grew up on the outskirts of Buckhead, Atlanta. She was the Valedictorian at her high school and entered law school afterwards when there were not a lot of women studying law. After law school, she discovered her real passion was in real estate. She worked in Buckhead selling real estate until she stumbled upon a banker who evidently noticed a so-called ‘streak’ in her and gave her a loan without her husband having to cosign after she had knocked on every bank executive’s door in Atlanta. She is known for being determined and known as a force of nature who raised two children and helped raise three grandchildren.

“It was such a delight to watch Becky interview my grandmother on my family’s farm a couple of weeks ago. My grandmother’s intellect and wisdom never cease to amaze me and I’m confident our viewers will find her interview one we can all learn from," said Brent Clark, Director of Content & Digital Media at WCTE PBS.

The nine-part series is hosted by Becky Magura, President & CEO at WCTE PBS, and is currently in production in season 10. It is watched by many people across central Tennessee on WCTE PBS and airs on the Tennessee Channel – statewide PBS. It focuses on people with fascinating stories from all walks of life.
