Cookeville, TN – WCTE Upper Cumberland PBS will showcase the One on One with Becky Magura Special featuring Mr. Jake Hoot on Sunday, November 3 at 6:30 pm to talk about his journey on “The Voice.” Hoot is originally from Corpus Christi, Texas and born to Baptist missionaries but moved to Cookeville, Tennessee at the age of 20 to attend Tennessee Tech University as a walk-on football player.
Hoot was selected during the Blind Auditions to compete in the four-time Emmy Award-winning singing competition in its 17th Season, airing Monday and Tuesday nights on NBC at 7 pm. During Hoot’s blind audition, Kelly Clarkson, the “American Idol” alum, who has won twice in a row for seasons 14th and 15th, chose Hoot to be a part of her team on national television. Clarkson joins Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, and John Legend as returning coaches.

Jake has had the opportunity to open shows for Country Music’s biggest names who include Jake Owen. Jake is currently writing new music and performing until he heads back to Burbank, California to be on stage at “The Voice” to compete. He is a newly single dad and has a four-year-old beautiful daughter named, Macy.
